date: 2007
client: Ministry of Italian Infrastructure
category: Transportation, Public
function: Masterplan for intermodal transportation stations linking the airport and coastal resorts
role: Flow analysis, architecture, design and coordination
collaborators: PRVS Architecture; Project Management: TAU Group
Description:
After a comprehensive study of the required functions and various phases of development for the future long-term use of the airport, the geographic nature of the Guangxi region, with its endless hills, along with the shape of the existing terminal, were what inspired us to create a design composed of soft shapes, bonded together to form a new mass that is in harmony with its context. This intention was given a special interpretation internally, by designing and carefully fitting each and every function within the new terminal buildings to complete the overall concept.
